Gordon Bell Parent Council
All parents of Gordon Bell Students are members of the Parent Council and are both welcome and encouraged to attend our meetings which are normally held at 5:00 pm on the last Tuesday of the month. Note the dates below for our scheduled gatherings.
The goal of the Gordon Bell Parent Council is to partner with administration, teaching staff and students to make
1. Increasing the meaningful participation of parents in the community
Participating in school-based decision-making and visibly supporting the efforts of Gordon Bell’s administrative and teaching staff; conveying to the staff and students the aspirations that parents have for education at
2. Attending to the social and physical environment of the school
Outreach to draw more parental support into the school community; fundraising to increase our capacity to support Gordon Bell’s educational and social activities and its facilities; tangible support to athletics, the arts and a wide variety of educational programs; support for diversity amongst the school’s population and community.
3. Creating opportunities for open discussion
Of these and related issues at regular meetings and other forums as required; developing tools of communication amongst parents, parent councils and new partners in the community who share these objectives, and proposing and implementing strategies and plans through which the Parent Council may realize these objectives.
